Ok y'all, who's ever experienced Montezuma's Revenge while traveling and needed relief? Or couldn't fall asleep from jet-lag and \ wished you had something to help you rest? How about recently finding out you have a food intolerance and don't know how to eat at restaurants anymore?
If you've said yes and are HUNGRY for more, then get ready because today's topic is all about travel tips from an herbalist perspective!
This episode was inspired by a recent 10 day trip to New York followed by a short trip to Colorado that was greatly supported by incorporating Vitalist methods and packing with intention.
Today's host, Danielle, noted that having a travel kit had become essential to keeping an internal harmony in her ever-changing external environment. Prior to herb school, living with a suspected food intolerance left her feeling worried and anxious about eating foods that could throw the whole trip off. She had experienced anxiety ordering foods from restaurants and found herself rejecting a lot of foods family and friends had made for fear of having a total gut attack — not anymore friends!
In this episode, Danielle gives all the details on her herbal travel kit, what she packs and why plus steps on how to handle food boundaries like a champ.

Are you Team Coffee or Team No-Coffee?
It seems like over the past few years, coffee has become an everyday classic for not only working folks but also students, influencers, athletes, and anyone who enjoys an afternoon pick-me-up. I mean, how could you not be enticed with coffee when there's a Starbucks at every corner?
In this episode our host Danielle dives deep into the pros & cons of one of our favorite herbs. She talks in depth about peer-reviewed studies on how coffee helps with the brain, our liver, and is one of the main sources of antioxidants in the modern diet. Surprising, right?
She also talks about how coffee can trigger behaviors that are not-so favorable like insomnia, anxiety, and constitutional dryness (we get into constitution a little bit as well, if you're wondering what the heck that means).

Howdy Vitalists!
In today's episode I go on an information-packed journey into the depths of sleep debt + its effect on our health and come out the other end with radical success stories and herbal remedies! The long and the short of it is this: Sleep is essential in order to live with vitality. Period.
Sleep debt is common in our modern time, but that doesn't mean we have to follow the cycles of insomnia, being over-stressed, or experiencing disturbed sleep and rest. There's so much we can do to support our body's natural ability to sleep —and sleep is our best friend! Did you know that our tissues regenerate during the first three hours of sleep? That the liver does its detoxification and repair around 1-3am? Sleep is one of the keys to charging, regenerating, and nourishing our body.
After doing many of these suggestions in the featured article and on the pod, I can type with a smile that I have such a better relationship with sleep. By balancing my work/home life along with having better boundaries with late-night carbs (hello, PrimeVideo + chips & salsa!) paired with herbal formulas that were specific to my constitution, I am able to feel confident in picking myself up when my sleep cycle is off. It's not something I rely on like sleep meds (which I mention some important info in this episode too!), but more like a natural response. If I'm upset and stressed, I drink Chamomile with honey. If I'm bloated, ate my food allergy and can't sleep, I make a Peppermint, Fennel, and Chamomile tea. If I'm emotionally clogged up and not really "passing" much, I drink Chamomile & Althea infusion with Honey. You see how one herb can be helpful in so many ways?
There's a purpose with herbs, especially paired with sleep. However, without properly taking care of your circadian cycle, nutrition, and stress levels, herbs become crutches. And we don't want that, right?
